In order for UMC employees to be prepared for the various types of disasters, a joint effort has taken place in order to implement procedures to help individuals increase departmental safety efforts.  A protection plan involves four phases of management:  mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery.  The main focus is to prepare UMC employees and help create a team environment to carry out the necessary tasks during an emergency situation.  After all, a disaster plan is only as good as the people who do it...

Preparedness may be characterized as a continuous process or cycle.  This site has been created to help UMC employees locate useful information in the time of need and be better prepared for the continuous process and/or cycle that life has to offer.
